The 2018-2019 prize winners were translated and promoted in the partner regions and some were staged.
- Elle pas princesse Lui pas héros (She’s No Princess He’s No Hero) by Magali Mougel (Actes Sud-Papiers) was translated by Chris Campbell with the support of the Institut français in South Africa and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York. The translated play was staged in the US by Johanny Bert and an American team in January 2019. The play was co-produced by the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) in New York and a run of around 20 dates has already been scheduled. The Institut Français in South Africa also promoted the translated play among its professional network.
- David Lescot's Master (Actes Sud-Papiers) was translated by Abla Kandalaft with the support of the UK and South African branches of the Institut Français. The translated work is currently in production. The project is supported by the UK branch of the Institut Français’ Cross Channel Theatre programme. David Lescot will shortly be invited to stage the play in UK classrooms. Production is underway with a rehearsal residency being held with British actors.
- Doreen by David Geselson was translated by Jennifer Gay with the support of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York. The English language adaptation will be staged in the US by David Geselson and an American team in 2020.
- Hala Moughanie’s Tais-toi et creuse (Shut up and dig) was translated by Timberlake Wertenbaker and produced with the support of the UK branch of the Institut Français. The project is supported by the Cross Channel Theatre programme.
